Meet the Team
Kathy and Brianna are a mother-daughter duo, who share a passion for horses. Kathy's maternal grandmother, Eileen Pausch, who had a passion and love for horses that she passed along to her granddaughter, Kathy, and great-granddaughter, Brianna. As the story goes, it all started back in Ireland, where Kathy's (and Brianna's) great, great, great, great grandmother was of Irish nobility and was set in an arranged marriage. However, she was not in love with that man, and she ran away with the stable boy to America instead!
Nicole joined Barry Ridge as the main trainer in 2013. As an instructor, Nicole enjoys using dressage principles to help enhance the harmony between horse and rider. She structures her lessons to help her students reach their goals regardless of discipline.
After being around during hundreds of lessons, plenty of horse shows and Brianna's horses, Kathy decided to get her own horse, and embraced the opportunity to start her own business. Barry Ridge Equestrian Center became a reality with Kathy's dream. She went back to her roots when deciding on a name for the new business, and used her grandmother's maiden name, Barry, as her inspiration.
Today, Kathy shows her horse Boy I'm Good (William) in western dressage winning multiple high point circuits throughout the years.
Brianna has a wide experience across several stock breeds and competitive classes that provide a solid equestrian background to provide you and your horse quality care and attentive service.
In 2015 she changed disciplines to dressage and western dressage. She and her horse Saintsational (Saint) have a goal to work towards their bronze medal.
Nicole has trained and shown horses up to Fourth Level dressage and Training Level eventing and is a USDF bronze medalist.
She has been teaching and training horses for almost 20 years and taken many breeds of horses to regional awards and USDF Horse of the Year breed awards all on self-trained horses. A graduate with distinction of the USDF 'L' dressage judges program, Nicole has completed the requirements to officially apply for the USEF 'R' dressage judges program.
