Barry Ridge Equestrian Center

is excited to announce we will be hosting another kids camp during Tuesday  August 8th - Friday August 11th, 2017!

We will be offering a four day riding camp for girls and boys ages 9-13 that have had prior riding experience. This will ensure that each rider gains more experience and can have as much fun as possible!

Each day will be a different theme so that each rider has a broad experience in several fields of riding, safety and overall care of horses.

We are looking to have fun energetic kids that have taken at least 1 month of horseback riding lessons prior to the camp. As most of the skills being taught will need to have prior experience.

Leah Griesbach will be hosting this years kids camp. She is the assistant trainer to Nicole Trapp, our main trainer here at Barry Ridge. Leah is also a student at UW-Madison studying in agricultural business and management of economics degree. She hopes to one day be a trainer and have a facility of her own someday. Starting out on her aunts horses when she was young started her passion with horses that will never go away! Leah started training with Nicole about three years ago and has learned so much in such a short amount of time. She is excited to see what the future brings. She broke out her first horse last summer, started giving lesson and will be showing a few of her own project horses this summer under the instruction of Nicole. We are excited to see her grow as a trainer and wish her the best!

Will it be canceled if there is bad weather?

No! We will have camp rain or shine because of our wonderful indoor arena that we can use if the weather decides not to cooperate.

Will my child ride a horse every day?

Please understand that these will be horse management sessions, not riding lessons.  If we are comfortable with the level of experience with the overall participating group we will consider a short riding session on the third day.
